I was born and raised in Fort Wayne, Indiana. My first guitar was given to me as a present
by my aunt when I was 16. Even before that I have loved music of all kinds. After learning
basic chords and playing for several years I hit the first of many plateaus that players
of different experience levels reach where they need to know something more before they
can progress. At this time, I was fortunate to hear of another guitarist, Michael Ellis,
who was giving music theory lessons. Thanks to Michael, I was able to construct my own
"cycle of fifths" chart which has helped me to understand chords and keys in a
way that has opened many doors. You can see the chart by using the "Music Chart"
link above. It is only a sign that points in the direction to know more, but maybe it will
make you curious enough to seek out someone who can open the doors for you.
I enjoy creating visual art
and have done so for quite some time. I have a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from John
Herron School of Art located in Indianapolis, Indiana. In addition to creating all the
images for the packaging artwork for my music projects, I have made a number of images
which you can view through the "Duane Art" link above.
Thank you for visiting this
site. I hope you find something in my music or art you like. Please send me a message at
the link on this page and let me know what you think. You can read more about my musical
life and hear my most recent recordings at cdbaby.com/cd/duaneeby.
